Common symptoms of exposure to EMF's

Updated: Feb 25

Electromagnetic Fields (EMF's) affect us at the cellular level, so it's not surprising that they can adversely impact all parts of the body and nervous system and the symptoms may present differently in each person.

The most common symptoms of acute exposure to EMF's include:

Insomnia / sleep disturbance

Headache / migraine

Pressure sense in head & ears

Sharp pains in head & ears

Sensations of electric shock

Dizziness / vertigo

Tinnitus / hearing disturbance / ringing or noise in the ears

Visual disturbance

Short term memory loss

Anomia / thought block / brain fog

Tremor / vibration / seizure

Synaesthesia

Cardiac dysrhythmia / heart palpitations

BP anomaly / Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)

Musculoskeletal pains

Joint dysfunction

Insatiable thirst / dehydration

Urinary / bowel urgency

Altered energy levels

Increased chemical sensitivity

Increased food sensitivity

General sensory up-regulation / skin rashes

Behavioural change

These are also classic common symptoms of Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity Syndrome (EHS) which can develop from acute and longer term cumulative exposure.

Longer term cumulative exposure to EMF's may present as symptoms which take time to develop (like cancer symptoms). Research studies show exposure to EMF's can contribute to the development of the following conditions:

Alzheimer’s

ADHD

Anxiety

Autism

Cancer

Cardiovascular disease

Depression

Epilepsy

Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity Syndrome (EHS)

Hormonal disruption

Parkinson's

Sterility and infertility

Thyroid dysfunction

If you would like to know more about EHS or any symptoms or conditions from exposure to EMF's, including how to diagnose it, reduce or stop the symptoms, treatments available to possibly recover, how to live and work with EHS and how to connect with others who are sensitive, Safer EMF offers online consultations to guide and support you.

Safer EMF recommends measuring your exposure to EMF's using an EMF Meter to locate all the sources of radiation and taking steps to reduce your exposure. Refer to our blog Common sources of high EMF in homes to better understand what devices emit EMF.

Safer EMF measures EMF during an onsite consultation. We recommend and install effective solutions to reduce your exposure. We also offer phone or video consultations. Learn more about our services or visit our shop to hire or purchase meters and shielding products that we use and recommend.
